A crucial question I am always being asked is which type of futon bunk bed should I be choosing. Should it be a metal futon bunk bed or a wooden bunk bed. Now obviously this comes down to personal preference. My own advice is if you want something that is cutting edge and really funky and cool then you should go for the metal futon bunk beds. Your son or daughter will be the envy of all their friends as few people have cottoned on to the huge advantages of having a futon bunk bed.

If you consider yourself more of  a traditionalist then I would choose a wooden futon bunk bed. This is a good choice especially if you have a child who is very hard wearing on furniture. The wooden variation do seem to last that much longer. However aesthetically they do lose in the funky stakes. The ones made from wood are a little bit more sturdy.

It is hard to give a definitive answer as to which one is right for your child. What you could do is ask them their opinion to see which one they would like. If I was a guessing man I would say that 70% will opt for the metal futon bunk bed as they almost look futuristic in appearance and are really trendy.
